Dr. Ron DiSalvo is senior scientist for Perfect Science Laboratories. In his more than 40 years in research and product development, DiSalvo has served as VP of R&D at Redken and Remedco Medical Analytical Laboratories; as Director of R&D for John Paul Mitchell Systems, and University Medical Products. DiSalvo has designed and formulated new products and product concepts for clients around the world. He is on the board of directors of several chemical and natural ingredient supply companies, on the technical advisory board of three journals, and the medical and scientific advisory board of two personal care companies. He has authored 92 articles and has written, coauthored and/or contributed to the writing of 31 technical books, including The Chemistry & Manufacture of Cosmetics, considered to be the bible of the cosmetic and personal care industry since 1940. DiSalvo taught cosmetic science and related subjects for a decade at schools such as UCLA, and has been guest lecturer in cosmetic science at eight universities and to professional groups around the world. He is a Chartered Chemist, Chartered Scientist and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Emeritus Member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, and holds membership in The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, The Royal Institution of Great Britain, The Association of Formulating Chemists, The American Academy of Science, the New York Academy of Science, and The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. Dr. DiSalvo has appeared on hundreds of television and radio shows around the world.
